Music Review: Anchovy by Edd Donovan and The Wandering Moles

Updated: Sep 30

Artist: Edd Donovan and The Wandering Moles

Song: Anchovy

Sounds like:  James Yorkston

Perfect for: A trip to the seaside

‘Anchovy’ by Edd Donovan and The Wandering Moles is the aural equivalent of being on a boat out at sea. The repeating lyrical phrasing lilts from side to side while the choral backing vocals and floating clarinet embody sea birds flying overhead, while the choppy guitar licks at the side as the waves lap effortlessly against the bow. It’s a song you could listen to over and over and find something new with every spin. What a beautiful, layered song with so many textures and colours that paint a rather divine picture. Go listen!

As a musician myself (listen here to my latest release), I totally understand how important getting feedback is and how hard it can to get people to listen to your music.
